Why do they say you cant give chocolate to babies, and does this apply to chocolate cupcake?
My baby will be having her 1st birthday next week and all the ‘baby guides’ say not to give chocolate to little ones. So, my mother-in-law runs right out and orders a chocolate cake from a bakery!! Ugh! I cant find anywhere online WHY chocolate is bad…
I would ask your pediatrician…
Because for some reason chocolate and babies is setting some alarms off in my head…but I can think of the specifics…I’m pretty sure it’s on the “high risk” list for allergy…
More scary than chocolate however …you want to make sure you have the go ahead from the doc for cake….
Between the potentials of wheat and egg allergy and the fact that all the sugar in the frosting will make baby’s head spin…you may want to be real careful with that.
There is a great recipe for “baby’s first cake” in the “What to Expect the First Year” book…and uh…it doesnt involve any chocolate.
Personally…I have no problems veto-ing any dumb decisions my in-laws or anybody makes if it can adversly affect my baby…don’t feel bad standing up to her. You all can enjoy her cake…and the baby can enjoy a healthy one that mommy made special. There’s nothing wrong with that!

What licenses do I need to start a bakery/cake decorating business form home?
It depends on where you live. Food businesses are controlled by local legislation. Even different towns and cities have different regulations and permits. Some areas do not permit distribution of food produced in home kitchens, some do.
You might start by calling your local chamber of commerce and asking for guidance about which local agencies you need to contact. Again, it varies.

I love cup cakes and my friend told me about this reicpe..?
she said it uses 1 egg white and a can of either diet-sprite or a can of diet-coke. and i just wondered if anyone had an offical recipe?
I found this recipe- it’s Weight Watchers. The directions say to slice it into 12 slices, but I bet you could make cupcakes with it too.
Ingredients
1 (18 ounce) box dry cake mix (any flavor)
10 ounces diet soda (any flavor)
1-2 egg white (slightly beaten, optional but cake stays together better and is fluffier)
Directions
1- Mix the dry cake mix, the diet soda, and the egg white(s) until well blended.
2- Pour into a 9 X 13 sprayed pan or prepared cupcake tins.
3- Cook according to the directions on cake mix box.
4- Slice into 12 pieces – 4 points per slice.
5- Suggested Combinations: * yellow cake mix / diet lemon-lime soda (with a dollop of Cool Whip — tastes like a “Twinkie”) * orange cake / diet Mountain Dew * cherry chip cake / diet cream soda * diet lemon-lime soda / lemon cake * angel or yellow cake / diet orange * white cake / diet peach soda * spice cake / diet lemon-lime * diet ginger ale / white cake * diet cherry soda / chocolate cake * Diet cola / devils food or chocolate mix * diet vanilla coke / chocolate cake * devils food cake / diet Vanilla coke * diet root beer / chocolate cake * diet cherry coke / chocolate cake * marble cake / diet cream soda * lemon cake / tangerine Diet Rite *.
Madeleines, those little shell-shaped sponge cookies immortalized in film and literature, have become a must for traditional tea-times and small gatherings. However, to make perfect madeleines, the pan is as essential as the recipe. Since the cookies are very delicate, the pan has to be extremely slippery so the madeleines pop right out, while also being strong and durable to heat evenly without b…
