birthday party ideas?
i’m helping my little cousin plan her 13th birthday party. so far we’ve decided that all the guests are going to come to her house and a limo is gonna pick them up to go eat somewhere. also, after taht they’re gonna come back to her house, eat cake and open presents. but the cake is gonna be a cupcake tower.
1.where do you recommend going to eat ?(please nothing too expensive and fancy. she’s just turning 13)
2.what should they do when they get to her house besides eat cupcakes and open presents ?
3.do you have any themes that the guests should follow (my friend did a black and white theme)
4. she doesnt want to give away goodie bags but she wants to give away an item that goes along with the theme.

Okay, the whole point of throwing a cool 13th party, is to feel a little more grown up, not like a baby. So definitely SKIP ChuckECheese, or fast food.
If it is a sleep over, then you don’t want to have the girls over for very long before going out, so plan that out. If it is a small group, you can go pick them up in the limo.
One idea is to have all the girls dress up in cocktail type dresses, or what ever they have and go with a princess (not like disney, but elegant) theme and the item could be a crown or small jewelry from like claires.
It doesn’t have to be somewhere “fancy” but somewhere that they can go and show off their dresses/outfits. A place like chili’s is always fun because you can laugh and have a good time and not really have to worry about what it is going to cost and being “polite”. I don’t know what you have locally, but something of that style/price range has always worked for me.
After you get back, have cupcakes and other snack foods, but I wouldn’t have a sit-down-and-watch-me-open-presents time, because its boring for the guests, and better to save for later. If you do wait, you might ask if someone brought a gift that they want to use during the party. Also have the girls play games, such as truth or dare or hide and seek in the dark (in the house) — remember this is a 13th birthday, not a 16th, and these games are ok. Also bring straighteners and curling irons, and make up, and give makeovers. Have everyone bring a music and a favorite movie, and you might not watch any of them, but it is a great fallback.
One thing that I did when I threw a party for my cousin (turning 13) is I had my 2 best friends come to the party. It made it a ton of fun for me, and they really helped out with making sure everyone was having fun. They had fun “helping out” and the younger girls loved talking and getting makeovers from “older girls”
If you have the girls dressed up, in a limo, going out to eat with good friends…you can’t go wrong. Your cousin will have a blast. Good Luck!
